Questions

1. What is T20Sim?
T20Sim (t20sim.com) is a tactical fantasy cricket simulator. You build a squad, submit a playing XI each competition, set batting / bowling order, then matches are simulated ball-by-ball.
2. Is this real-life cricket scoring?
No. Outcomes are simulated by the engine. It’s inspired by T20 cricket but designed for tactical decision-making rather than mirroring any single real-world scoring system.
3. How do I join a competition?
Create a team, draft your squad, then go to Public Competitions and join an OPEN competition using one of your teams.
4. Is T20Sim free?
During public beta, it’s generally free to play. Monetisation (if any) would be communicated clearly later.
5. How many teams are in a competition?
Public competitions are currently designed around 10 teams (beta rules may evolve).
6. What happens if I don’t submit my XI?
If you don’t submit your XI, your team will not secure a spot in the competition.
7. When does my XI become visible?
The competition pages explain the reveal rules. Typically, lineups are hidden until the required submissions are in (beta rules may change).
8. Can I change my XI after locking?
Once locked for a competition, you generally can’t change it (that’s the whole point of locking). If you need editability later, that may be a future feature.
9. What’s the difference between squad and XI?
Your squad is your full 22 drafted player list. Your XI is the 11 players you select from that squad to play the competition.
10. How do batting order and bowling plan affect outcomes?
They influence who faces balls and who bowls overs in each competition. Tactical choices matter, as a batter may perform better down the order.
11. How long does a competition take?
Competitions progress round-by-round on an interval schedule. In beta, rounds can be automated at a fixed interval once the competition is running (currently every 12 hours).
12. What do ‘OPEN’, ‘RUNNING’, and ‘COMPLETE’ mean?
OPEN: joinable / not finished. RUNNING: matches are being scheduled/simulated. COMPLETE: the competition is finished and a Champion has been determined.
13. How is the Champion decided?
The Champion is the winner of the Final (playoffs). League ladder typically reflects league rounds only (e.g., rounds 1–9), while finals determine the Champion.
14. How are playoffs/semi-finals determined?
Top teams after the league stage qualify for playoffs. Semifinals are generally seeded so #1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3.
15. What is MOTM?
Man of the Match is awarded per match using a points model that considers batting, bowling, all-round contributions, and a small winner boost.
16. What is POTS / Player of the Series?
Player of the Series is an award for the entire competition. It’s computed from persisted match performances across the full competition and stored once the competition completes.
17. What are digital card collectibles?
Digital card collectibles are special achievement cards earned through performances and milestones in T20Sim competitions. Examples include Man of the Match, 50 Runs, 5 Wickets, and Championship victories. Each card represents a specific accomplishment and is stored in your rewards collection as a permanent record of that achievement.
18. Why do I sometimes see placeholders or IDs?
If player images or mappings aren’t available for a specific entry, the UI may fall back to placeholders or raw IDs. This is usually a display/data-mapping issue we can polish over time.
19. Can I have multiple teams in the same competition?
Typically no, one team per user per competition is the cleanest competitive rule. If you later want multi-entry, that would be a deliberate feature.
20. Are the player pool names based on real cricketers?
No. All players in T20Sim are fictional. The names are designed to reflect global cricket regions and styles, but they are not real individuals.
21. What is the Rewards page on my dashboard?
The Rewards page showcases collectible digital cards you earn by achieving milestones in T20Sim competitions. These include awards such as Man of the Match, Player of the Series, Competition Champion and more. When you earn one of these achievements, a digital card is generated and stored in your Rewards collection. Over time, this becomes a record of your team's successes and standout player performances across competitions.
22. How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Please contact us via the official contact method listed on the website. When reporting an issue, include the page you were on, what you clicked, and any error message shown so we can investigate properly.
23. What does “Favorites: 22% (#1)” mean?
Favorites percentages are a performance-based indicator showing which teams are statistically strongest within a competition. They are calculated using match results, points, and Net Run Rate (NRR). The percentage represents a modelled share of competitive strength among the ten teams in that competition. The ranking number (#1, #2, etc.) simply shows the order of strength based on the model. These figures are not betting odds and are not linked to gambling. They are intended purely as a competitive insight feature.
